COURTLAND, Minn. — Authorities have resumed the search for a kayaker from South Dakota who disappeared along the Minnesota River over the weekend.
A KEYC-TV report (http://bit.ly/16s2w3V ) says the kayaker has been identified as 51-year-old Stephen Fritze of Watertown, S.D.
The Nicollet County sheriff's office says Fritze and two friends were kayaking on the river near Courtland on Saturday when brush caused their watercrafts to overturn. The two friends were able to make it to shore but Fritze did not.
Officials believe Fritze was not wearing a life jacket.
Rescue crews were continuing to search for him Sunday.
