"She is a native of Hobart, Ind., a suburb of Gary. Parry has a B.A. degree in journalism and urban studies from Indiana University and an M.A. degree in leadership from Augsburg University. She previously worked for the Louisville Courier-Journal and the St. Paul Pioneer Press. She has lived in Minnesota for 40 years and has deep roots in the state – her ancestors arrived in St. Paul in 1868.

Kate Parry is the assistant managing editor/development and special projects for the Star Tribune. She was previously the assistant managing editor for metro, investigations and features. She has served as the newspaper’s reader representative, also known as an ombudsman.
