Old men, old jokes?

The action comedy "Just Getting Started" wasn't screened for review, but it's understandable if you feel like you've seen it before. Offering a geriatric spin on "Midnight Run," it's a story about a retired FBI agent (Tommy Lee Jones) and an ex-mob lawyer who's in the witness protection program (Morgan Freeman) who don't like each other but are forced to join forces to evade a hit man. It was written and directed by Ron Shelton, who certainly has an impressive track record ("Bull Durham," "White Men Can't Jump" and "Tin Cup"). But other than a couple of TV gigs, he hasn't made a movie since "Hollywood Homicide" way back in 2003, a lengthy lapse that has to make us wonder why he couldn't find work. Perhaps this movie will provide the answer.
