Still looking for depth on their defensive line, the Vikings will meet with 29-year-old NFL, CFL, Arena League and NFL Europe journeyman Tom Johnson at Winter Park on Thursday.

According to multiple reports, Johnson will visit and take a physical on Thursday. USA Today reported that a one-year deal worth $845,000 with additional incentives already is in place and will be signed if Johnson passes his physical.

Johnson, a 6-3, 288-pounder, played end in the Saints' 3-4 scheme but probably would back up Sharrif Floyd at the three-technique tackle position.

After Johnson went undrafted in 2005, the Colts signed him but cut him in training camp. He was out of football in 2005 before re-signing with the Colts in May 2006. Indianapolis assigned him to Cologne of the now-defunct NFL Europe. Johnson spent 2008 with two Arena League teams and played for Calgary of the CFL in 2009 and 2010.

Johnson has been with the Saints since 2011. He has five sacks and 55 tackles in 55 games.
