Post time: 6:30 p.m. Best bet: Courtney's Hero (7th race). Best play: 50-cent Pick 4 (7th): 1/1,2,3,4,5,7/1,2,4,5,7/3,4,6, $45

1 350 yards. Open. 2-year-olds. Maiden. Purse: $11,500

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Master of the Sky (Velazquez, Olmstead)122/7-2

2: Faster Lika Wind (Swiontek, Johnson)122/15-1

3: Jess About Midnight (S. Ricardo, Hanson)122/6-1

4: Nsm the Ice Man (Delgado, Hunt)122/9-2

5: Lota Tricks (Goodwin, Hybsha)122/8-1

6: Gees Louise (Pinon, Black)122/8-1

7: Let Bull Fly (Velazquez, Olmstead)122/12-1

8: Her Painted Hero (Bachicha, Jr., Hunt)122/2-1

LET BULL FLY was bothered early and late last out and could prove tough with clean journey to finish line. HER PAINTED HERO ran for place honors in both starts. MASTER OF THE SKY dueled throughout last two races but was outfinished in both.

2 350 yards. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $10,000. Purse: $10,000

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Dashing Tee (Delgado, Hardy)126/8-1

2: No Such Tellin (Packer, Addicott)126/20-1

3: Matts Corona (Velazquez, Barnes)124/8-1

4: Bileve (Pinon, Swan)124/3-1

5: Rey D Arranque (Klaiber, Weidner)126/20-1

6: Marys Ice Dancer (Bachicha, Jr., Hunt)124/6-1

7: Gramma Ella (Swiontek, Livingston)126/5-1

8: Hiclass Man (Suarez Ricardo, Swan)126/5-1

9: Paint Me a Runaway (Torres, Charette-Hill)126/4-1

BILEVE was a two-back winner, and runner-up last out as the favorite. GRAMMA ELLA has the current class edge and is a consistent money-maker. MATTS CORONA came on late to get the win last effort.

3 About 1⅜ miles on turf. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Starter allowance. Purse: $25,000

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Blue Bomber (Mojica, Diodoro)124/7-2

2: Born Force (Lindsay, Donlin)124/9-2

3: Sweet Stuff (Hamilton, Donlin, Jr.)124/8-1

4: Sir Searsucker (Mawing, McFarlane)124/8-1

5: High Side (Sanchez, Rhone)124/6-1

6: Hay Dakota (Velazquez, Berndt)124/6-5

HAY DAKOTA is strictly the one to beat if race stays on the grass. Winner of the Mystic Lake Mile two back, has a strong class edge over his opponents and will get much respect at the betting windows. BLUE BOMBER brings plenty of early speed and projects as the one to catch to get the win. HIGH SIDE will be my top choice if race is taken off the turf because of rain. Let's hope not; might be three runners left in this small field.

4 About 5 furlongs on turf. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Starter optional claiming: $7,500. Purse: $17,000

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Bear's Big Boy (Sanchez, Broberg)124/5-1

2: Fusaichi Kid (Loveberry, Rhone)124/8-1

3: Success Rate (Ramgeet, Diodoro)124/8-5

4: Pilatus (Mojica, Jr., Bolinger)124/5-1

5: Harnersbach (Mawing, Lund)124/10-1

6: Smiling Charlie (Canchari, Bethke)124/12-1

7: Boston Charley (Mojica, Fields)124/9-2

8: Don't Claim Me (Hernandez, Bolinger)124/15-1

SUCCESS RATE faced stronger running at Santa Anita on the down-the-hill course. Will give a good account of himself, too, if race needs to switch surfaces. BOSTON CHARLEY runs well on both surfaces and is an interesting alternative if you don't like the favorite. Expect to protect the lead from the get-go. BEAR'S BIG BOY was a clear-cut winner two back sprinting on the dirt, then was purchased by a strong outfit, after running wide and fading badly last race.

5 6½ furlongs. State bred. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Maiden claiming: $10,000. Purse: $11,500

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Miracle Eclipse (Canchari, Donlin)120/4-5

2: Regal Rival (Hamilton, Anderson)124/15-1

3: Big Boy Sam (Loveberry, Olmstead)120/8-1

4: Brodeo (Escobar, Rhone)120/12-1

5: Brave Honor (Lindsay, Pfeifer)120/15-1

6: Nik Nak Paddy Wak (Mojica, Sterling, Jr.)120/7-2

7: Epic Force (Bedford, Wiley)115/15-1

8: Whoabegone Bakery (Goodwin, Rarick)124/12-1

MIRACLE ECLIPSE will be a single on most Pick 4 cards. Gelding is 0-4 in starts, but this is the opportunity to get first win in a soft field and top jockey aboard. NIK NAK PADDY WAK was purchased by the Sterling barn, which has decent numbers with his new acquisitions. I'll give BRAVE HONOR another chance, but only for the minor awards.

6 6 furlongs. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $12,500. Purse: $13,500

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Cedar Sage (Hamilton, Bravo)120/7-2

2: Wajna Surprise (Joubert, Hanson)120/10-1

3: Explosive Page (Canchari, Canchari)124/15-1

4: Team Fireball (Ramgeet, Ramgeet)124/6-1

5: Riverwind Cassena (Mawing, Nolen)124/9-2

6: Best Trick Yet (Canchari, Canchari)124/15-1

7: The Checotah Kid (Hernandez, Riecken)124/12-1

8: Lipan (Mojica, Diodoro)120/7-5

LIPAN returns to the main track after a failed effort on the turf last out. Light on winning form but lands in a cushy spot, and gets great tracking spot with outside draw. CEDAR SAGE switches surfaces with class drop, and return to dirt could a key. Will be dedicated to the front and has banged heads with softer. RIVERWIND CASSENA's speed figures match up well if you toss out last race. Much respect for barn.

7 6½ furlongs. State bred. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Maiden claiming: $10,000. Purse: $11,500

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Courtney's Hero (Sanchez, Rhone)120/3-5

2: Supermans Bodgit (Bedford, Wiley)115/15-1

3: Who Let Dacat Out (Mojica, Fauchald)124/9-2

4: Squeal of Fortune (Mawing, Rarick)120/20-1

5: Taz Warrior (Escobar, Danger)124/8-1

6: Smokin' Mo (Goodwin, Pfeifer)124/10-1

7: Lee's Tough Guy (Lindsay, Donlin, Jr.)124/12-1

8: Marco's Tribute (Velazquez, Rhone)120/20-1

COURTNEY'S HERO came up short as the heavy favorite last out but should be a new ballgame against this feeble field. Will come rolling late, so need to be patient. WHO LET DACAT OUT's best performance was two back, with a runner-up finish. Repeat of that effort makes him the main threat. TAZ WARRIOR is worth the trifecta ticket.

8 6½ furlongs. Fillies and Mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $6,250. Purse: $10,500

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Dancing With Eve (Canchari, Tracy)120/15-1

2: Silky Lady (Mojica, Rengstorf)124/4-1

3: Dialmynumber (Mawing, Lund)120/6-1

4: Warren's Honey Bee (Ramgeet, Diodoro)124/2-1

5: Good N Naughty (Lindsay, Diodoro)120/8-1

6: Cindication Boss (Sanchez, Anderson)120/12-1

7: Elevenpoint River (Loveberry, Hornsby)124/3-1

8: Hey Hey (Hernandez, Berndt)120/10-1

WARREN'S HONEY BEE makes her Canterbury debut as a new addition to the Diodoro stable. Been on the bench since February, but works are solid coming in. ELEVENPOINT RIVER cuts back in distance with ample early speed. Worth noting Loveberry remains aboard, after failing as the chalk last two out. DANCING WITH EVE drops to career low and signs could be live with focus on two bullet drills coming in.

9 6 furlongs. State bred. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $20,000. Purse: $16,000

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Luas Brio (Loveberry, Rhone)120/6-1

2: Five Star Creek (Mawing, Rarick)120/4-1

3: Keats Corner (Joubert, Hanson)120/5-1

4: Monday Confession (Sanchez, Broberg)120/8-5

5: Hatties Jewel (Canchari, Bethke)124/10-1

6: Sweet Pitch (Mojica, Walker)124/12-1

7: Formidable Force (Hamilton, Bravo)120/5-1

Last time MONDAY CONFESSION sprinted on the main track, he won by 11 lengths. Look for the gelding to catch a gear out of the gate. FORMIDABLE FORCE has never raced this cheap, and route-to-sprint angle has been successful for trainer Bravo. LUIS BRIO won in frontrunning fashion last out. Tough to ignore off that effort and dropping for half the price. FIVE STAR CREEK returns to the dirt and will be a major player.

10 1 mile. State bred. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance. Purse: $33,000

#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds

1: Tahkodha Royale (Hernandez, Sheehan)124/8-1

2: L G Suprem (Mojica, Jr., Fauchald)124/15-1

3: Got Even Smarter (Mojica, Sterling, Jr.)119/1-1

4: Grand Marais (Canchari, Scherer)119/9-2

5: The Saint (Hamilton, Sweere)124/5-1

6: Sun Country (Sanchez, Broberg)124/7-2

GOT EVEN SMARTER came up a dollar short in the Minnesota Derby and has every right to be the favorite with this allowance group. GRAND MARAIS finished two spots behind top pick in Minnesota Derby but switches to Alex Canchari to pilot. SUN COUNTRY held the third spot in merry-go-round fashion, while touring the course last race. Much respect, but prefer top two.
