Post time: 1:35 p.m. Best bet: Brokeandbusted (4th race). Best play: 50-cent Pick 4 (1st): 1346/23457/4569/4, $40. 1st race 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $10,000. Purse $7,500. (#/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds) 1/Finally Found Out, Goodwin, Rhone1195-1. 2/Northern Buddy, Trimble, Berg1239-2. 3/Gone Digital, Butler, Rengstorf1195-2. 4/Convict Lake, Franco, Silva1195-1. 5/Royal Wish, Luark, Bethke1196-1. 6/Hwy Onetwentyeight, Arroyo, Porter1197-2. 7/Kickin Cactus, Castro, Bravo11915-1. GONE DIGITAL is the lone speed in the race and will try going gate to wire. Has been facing slightly tougher and just missed going longer two back while trying to lead the field the whole way before getting caught. CONVICT LAKE invades from the West Coast for Silva, who's off to a strong start hitting at 30 percent this year. Horse has a slight class advantage over this group and look for the gelding to be closing late. Can improve after some dull outings. HWY ONETWENTYEIGHT cuts back to a sprint after running a decent route effort at Oaklawn Park hitting the board. Should be in the mix but must avoid being hung out wide for this deep closing. FINALLY FOUND OUT is a first timer for Rhone, who has worked well but the rail position is a tough start for newbies. Will need to get out quick. Definite shot to open career with a victory if he can get out fast. 2nd race 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $10,000. Purse $9,600.1/Governmentfailure, Trimble, Berg1196-1. 2/Jolly Boat, Luark, Bethke1193-1. 3/Captain Royal, Rivera Jr., Gourneau1198-1. 4/Prairie Appeal, Delorme, Donlin1199-2. 5/Lucky Straw, Riggs, Biehler1195-2. 6/Manlee Spirit, Robletto, Peters12320-1. 7/Downtown Delight, Stevens, Biehler1235-1. 8/The Reconciler, Velazquez, Olesiak11815-1

Wide open race with many question marks in the field. DOWNTOWN DELIGHT will be sent out for his second start with a steady work pattern. Didn't show much in debut here last August but trainer Biehler does much better the second time out. JOLLY BOAT will show early foot and will need to avoid a speed duel with one of the first timers, who could come out firing. Has improved since racing here last year and should run better with this field. LUCKY STRAW ran five races here last season and was no worse than 5th facing tougher rivals. Solid work schedule coming in. PRAIRIE APPEAL is the most appealing first timer of the new shooters.

3rd race 5 1/2 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $10,000. Purse $7,500.

1/Racine Belle, Aguilar, Canchari12312-1 2/Tru Omega, Robletto, Riecken12312-1 3/Barb Wire, Rivera Jr., Brocka1195-1 4/Rosyredepper, Riggs, Hartman1234-1 5/Alphabets Tuff Gal, Butler, Rhone1193-1 6/Threat Assessment, Keith, Hanson1235-1 7/Hang On in There, Franco, Silva1196-1 8/U Know What I Like, Arroyo, Brocka1239-2 9/Blue Ra Ra, Castro, Svendsen12320-1.

ALPHABETS TUFF GAL wheels back after racing 15 days ago in Tampa, where she gave way after leading the field going longer as the favorite. Butler/Rhone combination is tough to beat and has the best current form of the field. BLUE RA RA will not be 20/1 at post time as the M/L has her, but if the filly is, jump on it. She faced much better here last season and won in August setting the pace. Has three decent works coming in. ROSYREDPEEPER hit the board in three of her four races at Turf Paradise in both sprint and route races. Anything close to those efforts makes her a logical threat. Should be sitting off the pace.

4th race 5 1/2 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $5,000. Purse $8,000.

1/Flying by the Pole, Luark, Bethke12015-1 2/Good Luck Shamrock, Velazquez, Scherer1155-1 3/Khukuri, Walker Jr., Corcoran1202-1 4/Brokeandbusted, Goodwin, Brinson1233-1 5/Local Big Shot, Riggs, Biehler1208-1 6/Cash At Night, Rivera, Van Winkle12010-1 7/Jestintime, Trimble, Berg1206-1 8/Root River Kid, Morales, Cheloha12310-1

In what appears to be a two-horse race on paper, I give the slight edge to BROKEANDBUSTED, who looks tough shipping up from Hawthorne, where he has won three of the past four. Has good early and late speed to take over when asked. Should dig the furlong shorter distance today. KHUKURI is the one to beat coming off a 9-month layoff. Racing the first time for Corcoran, whose numbers explode across the board in the racing form with these types of races. Khukuri ran well against better at Arlington Park and Keeneland last year on synthetic track. First career race today on dirt. GOOD LUCK SHAMROCK has an outside chance if the top two try to duel it out to make late run.

5th race 6 1/2 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance. Purse $20,480.

1/Mr. Bubba Cat, Walker Jr., Scherer1235-1 2/Sun Country, Riggs, Richard1194-1 3/Nobody Buffoon, Castro, Rhone12315-1 4/Uno Mos Bluff, Stevens, Blair1198-1 5/Premodixon, Dieguez, Pfeifer11912-1 6/Ghost Dance, Delorme, Porter1236-1 7/Perfect Ablation, Goodwin, Scherer11910-1 8/Speakfromyourheart, Keith, Hanson1197-2 9/Somerset Mariton, Bell, Donlin12310-1 10/Desert Prize, Butler, Rengstorf1198-1

Giving the slight edge to SUN COUNTRY, who is running his second race off the layoff and showing good early foot last out but had no rally to compete at the end. Might have needed that race to stretch his legs and could be ready to finish stronger today. GHOST DANCE's last race was here 254 days ago but has been training extremely well with a couple of bullet works. Trainer Bryan Porter gets his horses ready after long layoffs. SOMERSET MARITON should enjoy the fast pace up front to close from the mid-pack starting from the 9-hole. Attracts Derek Bell for the ride in a race you might have to go deep on to start the late Pick 4.

6th race 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Stakes. Purse $35,000.

1/Nokomis, Riggs, Rosin1206-1 2/Sheso Dazzling, Bell, Robertson1204-1 3/Priceless Pearl, Franco, Silva1186-1 4/Bert'slittlesister, Rivera, Rengstorf1205-1 5/Polar Plunge, Walker Jr., Scherer1209-5 6/Hidden Gold, Butler, Bravo1207-2

Good field for the Lady Slipper Stakes. POLAR PLUNGE won all three of her sprints last year in commanding performances before losing by a head in the Minnesota Oaks to BERT'SLITTLESISTER. Looks to be training well, especially in her last work. Talented enough where she doesn't need the need but I'm guessing she will with lack of group speed and take them all the way. HIDDEN GOLD failed to hit the board racing down at a couple of Southwestern tracks but loves the track here where she was no worse than second in all four starts. SHESO DAZZLING always is tough. Another talented Robertson horse who will be stalking our pace-setter and does her best racing on this track.

7th race 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Stakes. Purse $35,000.

1/Bet Your Boots, Rivera, Richard1166-1 2/Victory Sled, Hernandez, Riecken1206-1 3/Freedom First, Delorme, Donlin1204-1 4/First Captain, Keith, Hanson12010-1 5/Bizet, Riggs, Padilla1163-1 6/Coconino Slim, Bell, Robertson11810-1 7/Rustic Road, Walker Jr., Rengstorf12012-1 8/Our Family Affair, Stevens, Oliver1188-1 9/Samendra, Butler, Rhone1205-1

Going to give slight edge to SAMENDRA in the 10000Lakes Stakes. Ran in the mud at Prairie Meadows after a 7-month layoff and ran second. Last sprint race here he won taking the lead and turning away all competition with Butler aboard. Regains Butler here today but might try to sit off the pace which he's able to do coming from the outside post. BIZET has been training well at Oaklawn and is always in the hunt. Likes to sit back, save ground, and closes well down the stretch. Has a bit of shyness crossing the wire first as he hasn't won in nearly two years with many place/show awards. FREEDOM FIRST won last month in the mud at Prairie Meadows closing five-wide and winning by a neck. Seems to be improving each race.

8th race 6 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Allowance Optional Claiming $16,000. Purse $17,000.

1/Dakota Digger, Bell, Robertson1195-2 2/Desert Alley, Rivera, Rengstorf1198-1 3/Like a Dream, Butler, Rhone1195-1 4/Platinum Devil, Delorme, Donlin1198-1 5/Erv the Banker, Castro, Rengstorf11912-1 6/I'll Show Them, Hernandez, Brinson1197-2 7/Pentecost, Riggs, Oliver11912-1 8/Redneck Richie, Keith, Biehler1199-2

I'LL SHOW THEM has three bullets coming in for trainer Brinson. Last raced on the turf, which he didn't find to his liking. He is strictly a sprint horse whose speed figures hit the 80's that no one in this field has accomplished in the dirt. He will love the hot pace upfront to make his big closing move. The son of Smarty Jones will be tough to beat. DAKOTA DIGGER ran last October out East against tougher company. Has two bullet drills and will be no pushover for our top pick. Will show good early speed on the rail which will a bonus. DESERT ALLEY is the most likely pace setter in a group that has a ton of speed. Another solid horse who ran well here last season but he will need a lot of stamina to hold off the pressure that will be behind him.

9th race 1 mile. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $5,000. Purse $7,500. #/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt.Odds 1/Ikaros, Rivera Jr., Weir1215-1 2/Third Rail, Riggs, Berndt1219-2 3/Too Bold to Hold, Delorme, White12110-1 4/Dean Doesn't Know, Luark, Bethke12115-1 5/Tapinot, Keith, Biehler1216-1 6/Deal of a Lifetime, Hernandez, Davis Jr.1237-2 7/World of Color, Arroyo, Riecken12115-1 8/Carnival Candyman, Trimble, Lund1216-1 9/Zee Are One, Butler, Rhone1214-1

DEAL OF A LIFETIME keeps improving each race this year in leaps and bounds. Had a speed figure of zero in March to run a figure of 73 in his last race three weeks ago. That race he took the lead, which isn't his usual formula of racing, and never looked back and won by nine lengths. Has no reason to let up. ZEE ARE ONE won last out in Tampa running 5 wide to over power the front runners. Talented horse who can run on any surface. Will be there at the end. TAPINOT had a couple of bad outings at Oaklawn early this year but against tougher fields. Another horse who gives it his all and does some of his best running here at Canterbury.
