Update: Mike Reilly was recalled from AHL Iowa. To make room with Jared Spurgeon's injury considered minor (meaning no injured reserve), Tyler Graovac was reassigned.

Defenseman Jared Spurgeon did not practice Monday with the Wild. But Wild coach Mike Yeo said Spurgeon's injury should not keep him out of action long. Indeed, as of practice today, Spurgeon is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game with Dallas at Xcel Energy Center.

"Good news on Spurge," Yeo said. "The good news is it's just a deep bruise. Bad bruise. Obviously there is some discomfort today and he's feeling pretty sore. We're considering him doubtful for tomorrow. But it's not something long-term.''

Spurgeon was hurt in the Wild's 4-1 loss in St. Louis Saturday. Yeo wouldn't say where Spurgeon got his bruise – "On his body,'' was what he said when asked. If Spurgeon cannot play the Wild would make a call-up.

Meanwhile, Mikko Koivu initially stepped on the ice for the Wild, but left before practice really got started with what Yeo called discomfort. "I haven't talked with the trainer yet, but I don't think it will be an issue," Yeo said.

With that in mind, here were the lines the team worked with today:

Granlund with Pominville and Niederreiter; Haula with Vanek and Fontaine; Graovac with Parise and Coyle. Then Porter, Zucker, Carter and Stoll worked on the other line.

Yeo sent a message when he scratched Jason Zucker and Thomas Vanek for the St. Louis game. More moves could be coming. "Just because those were the two guys who came out doesn't mean there won't be different guys in the future as well. Obviously we haven't been good enough lately. And when that happens we have to be prepared to do what's necessary.''

Yeo said he hadn't decided on who would be in and who would sit Tuesday.

That's all for now. Mr. Russo will be back in the saddle tomorrow.
