Like most White Sox pitchers, Mark Buehrle has been on a roll.

The lefthander is 5-1 with a 2.23 ERA in his past six starts. This is his 43rd career start against the Twins, so he needs no introduction. The new wrinkle is this will be his first start at Target Field. He was 0-4 with a 7.16 ERA in his final five starts at the Metrodome.

The Twins counter with Carl Pavano. He was last seen in Detroit, shutting down the Tigers in the final game before the All-Star break. I asked him last Sunday if it bothered him not making the All-Star team.

"I've been in the All-star Game, and trust me it would have been a great honor to represent the Twins, but I've got bigger and better things I want to do this year," he said. "Now it's time to refocus on those things and keep going out and doing my job every fifth day."

* The Twins have 27 hits in the first two games of this series, including five apiece from Joe Mauer and J.J. Hardy.

Update: Twins reliever Clay Condrey is likely headed for season-ending elbow surgery.

As of 5:25, the Tarp remains on the field, but the grounds crew is milling about. This game could still start on time.

Update: The tarp is coming off. Looking good for an on-time start.
