Rep. Paul Ryan: "If we're hit by terrorists, we're going to call it for what it is: a terrorist attack. ... What we're watching on our TV screens is the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy."

ON IRAN

Ryan: "We've had four different sanctions, the U.N. on Iran, three from the Bush administration, one here. And the only reason we got it is because Russia watered it down and prevented the -- the sanctions from hitting the central bank.

... They're racing towards a nuclear weapon."

Biden: "These are the most crippling of sanctions in the history of sanctions, period. ... We will not let them acquire a nuclear weapon, period."

ON WHO'S FOR THE PEOPLE

Ryan: "Romney's a good man. He cares about 100 percent of America."

Biden: "Stop talking about how you care about people. Show me something. Show me a policy."

Biden: "You think these guys are gonna go out there and cut these loopholes?"

Ryan: "There aren't enough rich people and small businesses to tax to pay for all their spending."

ON THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN

Biden: "We are leaving in 2014. Period. And in the process, we're going to be saving over the next 10 years another $800 billion."

Ryan: "We don't want to broadcast to our enemies: Put a date on your calendar. Wait us out."

ON THE FUTURE OF THE ECONOMY

Biden: "Instead of signing pledges to Grover Norquist not to ask the wealthiest among us to contribute to bring back the middle class, they should be signing a pledge saying to the middle class we're going to level the playing field."

Ryan: "Look, did they come in and inherit a tough situation? Absolutely. But we're going in the wrong direction."

ON ABORTION

Biden: "Life begins at conception in the [Catholic] church's judgment. I accept it in my personal life. ... I do not believe that we have a right to tell other people that women they can't control their body.

Ryan: "All I'm saying is, if you believe that life begins at conception, that, therefore, doesn't change the definition of life. That's a principle. The policy of a Romney administration is to oppose abortion with exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother."
