A woman was killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Watertown Township in Carver County, the State Patrol said.
Nikole Kristene Beneke, 42, of Hutchinson, Minn., was a passenger in a vehicle heading west on Hwy. 7 near Oxford Avenue when the driver drifted off the left side of the highway. The vehicle struck a driveway and was vaulted into a tree, the patrol said.
Beneke died at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 4 a.m.
The driver, identified as Jonathan Breyon Burg, 40, of Minneapolis, was not seriously hurt. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said; Beneke was not.
Alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the crash, the patrol said.
