Above, Daniel Dempster of Mankato looked over the retro furniture and trinkets offered for sale by Olde Town Creamery, a vintage shop based in Maple Lake, at the Junk Bonanza at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Dempster has been a visitor to previous bonanzas, now held twice a year, and knows to look for "anything metal" that interests him. At left, Minnesota-shaped signs were some of the many metal craft items being sold by Des Moines-based Relics Awry. The Junk Bonanza features more than 150 vendors and continues Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other activities include an "Art of Junk" contest, giveaways, and books and magazines for sale. More information is at www.junkbonanza.com.
