As seen on TV

The audience for the big-screen version of "Veronica Mars" — available Tuesday — probably falls into one of three camps: those who loved the mid-2000s TV show and would enjoy the movie even if it were a remake of "Grown-Ups 2" starring Kristen Bell; those who adored the teen-noir detective show and got so amped about the film that it could never live up to expectations, and those who have never heard of it but think the spunky, acerbic heroine seems pretty swell. It's good to have Veronica back, but the movie lacks the verve and chemistry that made the series a must-see. The DVD and Blu-ray (Warner, $29-$30) include a featurette about the 90,000 fans who helped to get the movie made.
