Rudy Gay never made it to Target Center,.

He's already gone after the Grizzlies stepped and paid up.

Big.

A Wolves source confirms it.

NBA.com, ESPN and Yahoo Sports are calling it a five-year, $80 million-plus deal.

Apparently, the Grizz were worried some team was going to frontload an offer with as much as $20 million a year, so they struck now.

Gay was suppose to arrive sometime this afternoon, but never got that far after the Grizz paid probably $30 million more than if they had agreed to sign him last season.

David Kahn released this statement:

"We have been notified by Rudy Gay's representatives that he will not be visiting us today. As I have said all along, this year's free agent process will be extremely fluid and we'll continue to explore all options to improve our team."

The wild ride that is this free-agency period continues, and we're less than 15 hours in.
