Artwork created by Hennepin County employees will go on display Monday in downtown Minneapolis.

The exhibit, which will be up through Aug. 27, will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Hennepin Gallery, in the Hennepin County Government Center, A-level, 300 S. 6th St.

Paintings, sculpture, photography, drawings and textiles will be on display.

The employees who've created the artwork range from workers at the county's 41 libraries to jail guards to IT workers. "This exhibit offers them the opportunity to display talent that isn't part of their daily work routine," the county said in a news release.
