Two of the season's biggest trends are metallic and structured bags.

Designers such as Prada, Michael Kors and Marni have taken notice and combined the two to create the season's newest "it" handbag.

However, if you don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars on a trend, you're in luck. Cambridge Satchel Co., a British handbag brand, just released its new metallic collection, at left, for a fraction of the cost.

The label was born in 2008, when a mother-daughter team started designing and manufacturing bags similar to classic school satchels. They updated the traditional design by offering the bags in cool colors and a variety of sizes and the fashion world took notice. Celebrity followers include Alexa Chung, Zooey Deschanel and Elle Fanning. The brand was picked up by Bloomingdale's, Shopbop, Urban Outfitters and Henri Bendel.

The bags, which start at about $130, come in classic colors such as black, brown, charcoal, red and navy.

They also offer a line of fluorescent bags and recently introduced a metallic line, just in time for the holidays. Available in rose gold, royal blue, pink and purple, the metallic handbags sell for about $170.

Some bags are available in stores, but to check out the full collection go to www.cambridgesatchel.co.uk/.
