Good afternoon from beautiful Glendale, Arizona, where the Wild just got done with an optional practice. They have a team dinner tonight.

I'll be on KFAN with Dan Barreiro at 4:20 p.m. CT

OK, I apologize for not being completely trusting of the site hockeygoalies.org.

You were right, I was wrong. Actually, I did believe ya, so much so that I completely jinxed Matt Hackett's shutout last night by talking about it on Twitter until of course Dustin Penner scored. Hackett could probably tell by my timeline that I would talking about his shutout, which is like talking about a no-no, but Hackett's a good guy and told me it's not my fault.

Hackett is on Twitter, incidentally, at @matthackett31 and he says his "phone is just blowing up" with tweets and emails and facebook messages and calls.

He tweeted after his first win in San Jose, "Phone won't stop vibrating! Thank you everyone for the support!"

So back to the hockeygoalies.org thing, according to the final folks of the Elias Sports Bureau, they confirm that Hackett's shutout streak of 102 minutes, 48 seconds is the longest in NHL history to start a career. Now, Hackett did spend 12 seconds on the bench last night during the delayed penalty before the Marco Scandella game-winner, but Elias says his shutout streak will be 102:48 and not 102:36 because in the early years, they didn't keep track of when goalies left the ice for delayed penalties, etc., so for historical comparisons, they credit Hackett's streak at 102:48.

Coach Mike Yeo said today that the coaches haven't decided who is starting tomorrow and had to see how Niklas Backstrom is feeling. Last time Yeo said that was Wednesday. Thursday night, he later admitted the coaches knew who was starting but didn't tell Hackett until Thursday morning, probably so he could sleep. So maybe this is the same blueprint and we'll see Hackett yet again vs. the Coyotes.

We won't see Josh Harding though. He returned to Minnesota to be examined by the doctors and is expected to at least be at practice Monday (day off Sunday).

Cal Clutterbuck practiced during today's optional. He said he's feeling good, but it's uncertain if he'll play. It'll be completely up to him depending on how he feels after the morning skate.

That's it. Ton of work to do. If I realize I forgot to toss something up here as I transcribe and write, I'll update the blog. Talk to you Saturday if not.
