A hospital emergency room in Robbinsdale was put on lockdown Saturday night after a self-inflicted shooting erupted inside a restroom.

The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. Saturday in a restroom near the emergency room at North Memorial Medical Center, prompting a temporary lockdown, according to hospital officials. Robbinsdale police responded and worked with hospital staff to reopen the unit.

A sergeant with the Robbinsdale Police Department said Sunday night that he didn't have information on how long the emergency room was on lockdown or the condition of the shooter.
