With the first day of spring comes the first block party lineup announcement: The Memory Lanes Block Party will return for a two-day run May 24 and 25 (Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend) in the large parking outside the Seward neighborhood bowling alley. Lizzo's dance-sparking quintet GRRRL PRTY will headline on Saturday -- they've probably been invited to every block party this summer -- and Detroit's Bloodshot-recording twang-rockers the Deadstring Brothers top out Sunday's bill. The rest of the 3 p.m.-2 a.m. lineups range from pally soulful garage-rockers Black Diet and Southside Desire to bluesy wild man Crankshaft to excellent rockabilly upstarts Ross Kleiner & the Thrill. Here's the full rundown:

Saturday, May 24: GRRRL PRTY / BLACK MARKET BRASS / BUFFALO MOON / SOUTHSIDE DESIRE / MARY & THE PERCOLATORS / RED DAUGHTERS / PENNYROYAL / REINA DEL CID / BLACK DIET / GROLAR BEARS / HOTPANTS/HIPSHAKER DJs

Sunday, May 25: DEADSTRING BROTHERS / ELEGANZA! / FRANKIE TEARDROP / L'ASSASSINS / THE DRUG BUDGET / CRANKSHAFT / NATO COLES & BLUE DIAMOND BAND / BLACK HEARTS BURLESQUE / ROSS KLEINER & THE THRILL / DJ SHANNON BLOWTORCH / DJ FATHER TIME

As always, the outdoor portion of the event is free and all ages. The party will continue indoors after 10 p.m. for fans 21-and-up. It's a rain-or-shine event, but surely the good Lord will have mercy on us and bring us some much-needed fun in the sun.
