Cornerback Cedric Griffin was fined $10,000 by the NFL for striking Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Ochocinco in the head in the fourth quarter of the Vikings' 30-10 victory over the Bengals on Sunday at the Metrodome.

Griffin was called for unnecessary roughness on the play, which originated from the Vikings 17-yard line. Carson Palmer's third-down pass for Ochocinco was incomplete. The NFL announced the fine Friday.

That was one of four fines handed out from that game. Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe was fined $5,000 for head-butting cornerback Johnathan Joseph. Joseph, in turn, was fined $5,000 for taunting Shiancoe during the same sequence in the first quarter. Both players were called for unnecessary roughness.

Also fined $5,000 was Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams, who was called for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty in the second quarter for hitting Palmer out of bounds.

Harvin, Rice listed as questionable

Vikings wide receivers Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice were listed as questionable Friday when the team issued its injury report for Sunday's game at Carolina. That means they have a 50-50 chance of playing.

Harvin, as you can read in the previous blog, returned Friday and was limited in practice after missing much of the past two weeks because of migraine headaches. Rice did not practice for a second consecutive day Friday because of illness but he was in the locker room this afternoon and he was on the field during the portion of practice that was open to the media.

Harvin and Rice are the Vikings leading receivers this season, combining for 115 catches, 1,756 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Also listed as questionable was defensive end Ray Edwards, who was limited for a second day in a row because of an issue with his back. Edwards had practiced in full on Wednesday.

Everyone else on the Vikings injury report is listed as probable. That list includes wide receiver Bernard Berrian (hamstring); cornerback Cedric Griffin (neck); left guard Steve Hutchinson (shoulder); safety Tyrell Johnson (concussion); right tackle Phil Loadholt (shoulder); cornerback Karl Paymah (knee, ankle); tight end Visanthe Shiancoe (ribs, foot); center John Sullivan (concussion); and cornerback Antoine Winfield (foot).

This means that Johnson will be back as the starting safety after rookie Jamarca Sanford got the start last week.

Delhomme officially out

Matt Moore will start at quarterback again for the Panthers on Sunday as Jake Delhomme was officially declared out because of a broken finger. The Panthers listed cornerback Richard Marshall (ankle) and running back Tyrell Sutton (thigh) as questionable.

Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad (knee), running back Jonathan Stewart (toe), defensive end Tyler Brayton (concussion) and linebacker Na'il Diggs (ribs) all are listed as proable after taking part in the entire practice on Friday in Carolina.
