A day after a work-in-progress scrimmage, the Gophers' morning practice was devoted to individual position work, with an emphasis on fundamentals. I'm guessing the film-room session last night was pretty intense.
The Gophers have reason to be relieved about one thing, though: Ryan Wynn was out of the walking boot, had discarded his crutches, and apparently only suffered a minor sprain on Tuesday. He didn't practice, but spent the morning working with strength coach Eric Klein on some rehab exercises. With 17 days left until the season opener, it appears Wynn, the Gophers' starting center, should be ready.
Of course, the Gophers don't discuss injuries except on Thursday, so we'll have to wait to learn his status -- or that of cornerback Troy Stoudermire and long snapper Jake Filkins, each of whom suffered a blow to the head on Tuesday. Both were in orange jerseys Wednesday, held out of practice.
