JUPITER, FLA. -- Twins manager Ron Gardenhire dropped a little news on the media during his pregame session: Josh Willingham will be the team's left fielder, not the right fielder, as he's played most of the spring.

Denard Span is in center field. Who's in right? It's a competition between Ben Revere, Trevor Plouffe and Chris Parmelee.

In January, Gardenhire said he planned to start Revere in left field, but now Revere appears to be in a reserve outfield role.

"I thought Ben in left field sounded fine, but then you start seeing everything and things start changing a little bit, and then I start moving them around," Gardenhire said. "If he's going to be a part-time starter and part-time extra guy, you've got to be able to play them all."

Revere is in left field today (with Willingham back in Fort Myers), and Parmelee is in right field for the second consecutive day. Plouffe is out with a hamstring injury but he was hoping to play in a minor-league game Monday.

So much of this is up in the air, as the Twins try to decide if Justin Morneau should move to a regular DH role. If that happens, Parmelee might see a lot of time at first base.

"Yes, [the right field competition] does hinge on that," Gardenhire said. "A lot."
