wolves gameday

7 P.M. VS. memphis • target ARENA • fsn, 830-AM

Preview: The Timberwolves, winners of two consecutive and five out of six, will attempt to push two games above .500 for the first time since Nov. 22. But it won't be easy. The Grizzlies, back in good health, have won four in a row — including home and away victories over Houston and a victory at Portland — and nine out of 10.

Players to watch: Wolves F Kevin Love has scored 30 points in back-to-back games. But, with C Nikola Pekovic out because of bursitis in his right ankle, Love will find it more difficult to find space on the court. G Kevin Martin is coming off an 18-point game vs. New Orleans. F Dante Cunningham came off the bench Wednesday to match his season high with 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting. … Memphis C Marc Gasol has scored in double figures in five of eight games since his return after missing 23 games because of a knee injury. PG Mike Conley leads the team in points (18.2) and assists (6.3).

Numbers: The Wolves have lost five consecutive home games to the Grizzlies. The Wolves are 3-10 while scoring fewer than 100 points, but two of those victories have come in the past two games.

Injuries: Pekovic is out. … Memphis G/F Tony Allen (left wrist) is listed as day to day. He has not played since Jan. 3. G/F Quincy Pondexter (right foot) is out.
