Charlotte preview: Charlotte's defensive pressure could cause problem for the Gophers. The 49ers are 1-1, beating Liberty 66-56 and losing at Kansas State 73-65. Charlotte forced 54 turnovers in its two games, 30 vs. Liberty and 24 at Kansas State. The Gophers had 23 turnovers at Northern Iowa, a stat sure to catch the eye of the Charlotte coaching staff. … Charlotte was 26-6 last season and returns two regulars off that team: junior guards Hillary Sigmon and Ayanna Holmes. Holmes leads Charlotte with an 11.0-point scoring average. … Charlotte's stat of concern against Kansas State was a 46-25 disadvantage on the boards.
