Amanda Zahui B. made a good first impression — even if it was in an exhibition game.

Zahui B., a 6-5 redshirt freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, had 28 points, 19 rebounds and four blocked shots as the Gophers routed Winona State 82-44 at Williams Arena before an announced crowd of 2,168.

Junior guard Rachel Banham had 13 points and six assists for the Gophers in only 20 minutes. Also in double figures was teammate Jackie Johnson with 12 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes.

But Zahui B. clearly stole the spotlight. She played 32 minutes, more than anyone else for Pam Borton's team. She was 11-for-18 from the field, and 6-for-11 from the free-throw line. And she dominated the boards, getting 14 more than anyone else on either side.

"It was important for her to get out and play," Borton said. "She hasn't played [in a real game] in awhile, and it was great to see her enthusiasm. She has a lot of work to do, and a long ways to go, but she can build off it and we can see what she can do defensively, while improving her game."

Zahui B., 20, has been a member of Sweden's national team for six seasons.

Abby Busch had 10 points to lead the Warriors, who shot only 23.7 percent and were outscored 46-6 in the paint.
