The Vikings have begun the process of extending invitations to their first minicamp.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that former North Dakota State running back Tyler Roehl will be in attendance at the Vikings' minicamp and that he will try to make the team as a fullback.

Roehl tore his ACL last year during an offseason workout with Seattle. The Seahawks had signed Roehl as a free agent. Roehl, a North Dakota native, rushed for 263 yards against the Gophers in 2007 at the Metrodome.

The Vikings' first minicamp, which is scheduled for May, is held for rookies and younger plays, so guys such as Roehl are often brought in for a look. These players aren't signed to a contract before the camp but rather try to earn a deal by impressing during the workouts.
