A former Republican legislative staffer convicted on 12 felony counts of possessing child pornography was sentenced Monday to several years in prison.

Rory A. Koch, 40, was given seven prison terms, ranging from slightly over a year to five years for the different convictions. Judge Edward Wilson ordered them to run concurrently.

Koch will have to serve at least three years and four months. He will have five years of conditional release and must register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Koch was an administrator for the state House Republican Caucus when he was charged last March. Authorities said there were 68 images of child porn and 58 images of "child erotica" found on Koch's work computer.

Koch was convicted at a bench trial, and has maintained his innocence. Wilson's sentences were based on Koch's refusal to express remorse or accept responsibility for his actions.
