The leaves are now changing rapidly in the river bottoms of the west. Hatches of hecuba, mahagony, and trico mayflies are coming off on the Bitterroot and Clark Fork rivers. Duck and archery seasons have now opened, and many hunters have already put bull elk on the ground. Here is what fall looks like in Montana.
