A police officer shot and killed a man early Tuesday in a Duluth neighborhood, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. outside a home in the 300 block of E. Locust Street, said Officer Jim Hansen, a police spokesman.
Hansen said he would reveal more later about what led police to that neighborhood and other details about the shooting.
The identity of the man who was killed has yet to be revealed.
The officer has been placed on paid leave as the shooting is investigated, which is standard procedure.
