Duluth artist Dean Kegler has won the Minnesota Walleye Stamp contest — his third state contest win.
Kegler's painting of a walleye preparing to inhale a crankbait will be featured on the 2018 walleye stamp. Kegler also won the 2016 trout and salmon and 2009 pheasant stamp contests.
The $5 walleye stamp validation isn't needed to fish for walleyes. For 75 cents more, anglers will be mailed the pictorial stamp.
No prizes are awarded the stamp contest winner.
Stamp sales help finance walleye stocking.
