Just as he did the last time he was in town for a week of shows, Dave Chappelle has tacked on a party with a discernably purple hue to mark the end of his Minneapolis run.

The stand-up legend will host an event dubbed "Dave Chappelle's Juke Joint" at Aria in the Warehouse District on Monday, two nights after his final scheduled show at the State Theatre. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster at a time and price yet to be announced. French harmonica wiz Frederic Yonnet and his Band With No Name are listed as the performers along with DJ D-Nice, but "special surprises" are also promised.

Yonnet has performed with both Stevie Wonder and Prince and was featured on the latter's 2009 four-CD live set from Paris, "All Day, All Night, All Week." Given the fact that the party falls on the eve of Prince's birthday in his hometown, chances are good it will turn into something of a tribute. However, the only mention of the late legend in the promo for the event is this quote by him: "Bring your foot spray cause it's going to get funky."

Two of Prince's former NPG bandmates, Michael Bland and Sonny Thompson – who are also anchoring tribute shows at the Parkway Theater on Friday, Saturday and next Wednesday – will already be in downtown Minneapolis on Monday night for their usual Dr. Mambo's Combo gig nearby at Bunker's. There's no telling who the surprise guests might be, though. At another of Chappelle's Juke Joint wrap-up parties in Toronto, for instance, Usher showed up, while both De La Soul and Ed Sheeran were at the one in London. It sounds like Chappelle himself also isn't afraid to take the mic with the band.

When his 12-show Minneapolis run ended in 2013, Chappelle hosted a late-night "basketball and pancakes" party at Target Center, fashioned after the beloved skit from his Comedy Central TV series about a real-life Prince encounter. Prince himself did not attend the party but sent a sizable check to benefit the Timberwolves' nonprofit community programs. And yes, pancakes were served.

Chappelle's current stand-up run continues tonight with two more sets at First Avenue before moving to the State Theatre four four gigs Friday and Saturday. A limited number of tickets still remain for Saturday's final show. He was in refined, well-rehearsed form when we reviewed Tuesday's kick-off performance.

Yonnet is also scheduled to play his own show at the Dakota on Friday (11 p.m., $10). Here's a clip of the Frenchman on stage with Stevie.
