Judging from the tweetosphere, it looks like freshman Republican Chip Cravaack has been burnishing his labor credentials in northern Minnesota. Cravaack played up his past in the airline pilots' union when he upset veteran DFLer Jim Oberstar in 2010. Now, facing a potentially tough reelection fight this year, he's spending a lot of time talking jobs and meeting with labor folks. The latest evidence of that was Thursday's meeting with Adam Duininck of the Operating Engineers Local 49 and other labor figures in the traditional DFL enclave of Duluth. Cravaack district director Sheldon Anderson tweeted about it, and Duininck retweeted. That counts for something in the new digital age of politics, especially as other Cravaack aides retweeted again, including one who noted that the congressman plans to form a labor advisory council in the coming weeks. It all went something like this: AdamDuininck Adam Duininck #Jobs is bipartisan issue! RT @sheldonanderson Excellent morning w/ @RepChipCravaack listening to the voices of Labor in #Duluth.@bgolnik
