A 31-year-old Coon Rapids man has been missing for more than a week under what authorities are calling "suspicious circumstances."

Alan Lyle Taylor, who lives in the 2200 block of 130th Avenue NW., was seen by neighbors at about noon on Aug. 25 getting into a white Pontiac car. Taylor was wearing red shorts and no shirt, and there has been no activity on his cell phone or financial transaction cards, according to the Coon Rapids Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

Taylor left his car at home, and relatives say he's never disappeared before, authorities added.

"Family members are gravely concerned for his safety," read a statement distributed by the Sheriff's Office.

Taylor had plans to begin school this week at Anoka Technical College and spend the Labor Day weekend with family, according to the Sheriff's Office.

"It's a bona fide mystery," said Cmdr. Paul Sommer.

Taylor is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds, with short light-brown hair.

Anyone with information about Taylor's whereabouts is asked to call authorities at 763-427-1212.
