Urbandale (Iowa) defeated Coon Rapids-Andover 3-2 Friday in the finals of the Little League Baseball Midwest Regional in Indianapolis, scoring the winning run on a wild pitch in the final inning. The victory earned Iowa a place in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

The loss was the first in the regional tournament for Coon Rapids-Andover, which had won five games by a combined score of 71-10 entering Friday's final. After Iowa scored in the bottom of the first inning, Coon Rapids-Andover tied it in the top of the second when Carsen Syke doubled and later scored on a passed ball. With Iowa leading 2-1 in the fifth, Wil Goodin's single to center scored Matthew Brodeur to tie it 2-2.

Iowa loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning on an error, a walk and a single before Joshua Neyens scored on a wild pitch by Lucas McCain. Syke and Goodin combined for 29 hits and 26 RBI in the tournament.
