Power for the BMW X6 is generated by two engine variants: the new xDrive50i (4.4L V-8) and the xDrive35i (3.0L inline six-cylinder), both outfitted with twin turbochargers and direct injection. Both are bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The BMW X6 starts with the automaker's proven intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology with electronic control to vary the distribution of drive power between the front and rear axles, instantaneously adjusting to driving conditions. The all-new BMW takes xDrive a step further with the introduction of Dynamic Performance Control, a system that ensures variable distribution of drive forces between the two rear wheels.
Underway, the X6 is an opulent experience for four adults. Power is fluid and seamless, while handling and control is more like a precision tool in the grasp of an experienced craftsman. Spirited cornering is virtually flat at even elevated speeds.
