Best DHs: Edgar Martinez, Mariners; David Ortiz, Red Sox; Thomas, White Sox; Paul Molitor, Twins; Hal McRae, Royals; Harold Baines, White Sox.

The DH effect: Over the past two seasons, the American League has a winning record both home and away against the National League. The AL was 132-123 without the DH and 144-111 with the DH.
