Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn will visit the Vikings on Wednesday night, according to an NFL source. He's expected to stay until Thursday.

Munnerlyn, 25, has spent the last five seasons with the Panthers. The Mobile, Ala. native recorded a career-high 74 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year. He also had two interceptions, two defensive touchdowns and one forced fumble. Five of Munnerlyn's seven career interceptions were returned for touchdowns.

The Vikings have been active trying to add a cornerback this offseason. It's their biggest need now after re-signing defensive end Everson Griffen and quarterback Matt Cassel. The Vikings also addressed a need at defensive tackle with the signing of Linval Joseph.

The Vikings interest to cornerback Alterraun Verner's representation during the three-day negotiating window, but Verner signed with the Bucs.
