BRING IN THE ARMS
The Twins have remade their bullpen this offseason by signing three relievers with a combined 35 years of major league experience:
Addison Reed
RHP • age 29 • 6-4, 230
A closer much of his career, he had 40 saves for a White Sox team that won only 67 games in 2013. He had 19 saves with the Mets in 2017 before getting dealt to Boston, where he served in a setup role the rest of the season for the eventual AL East champions.
FERNANDO RODNEY
RHP • age 40 • 5-11, 230
The flamboyant Dominican with the crooked hat, the imaginary bow and arrow and 300 career saves over 828 appearances was signed to close for the Twins after he finished with 39 saves for Arizona in 2017.
ZACH DUKE
LHP • age 34 • 6-2, 210
The former All-Star starter has turned into an effective lefthanded specialist, and he returned to a major league mound last July with St. Louis after having Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery in October 2016.
