Former Gophers Ben Blankenship and Heather Kampf were the men's and women's champions at Thursday's TC 1 Mile road championship in downtown Minneapolis.
Blankenship's time was an event-record 3 minutes, 55.8 seconds, and Kampf, at 4:34.2, became a three-time winner of the race. Blankenship earned $15,000, including $10,000 for breaking the record of 3:56.1 in the USA Track and Field event.
Defending champ and Winona native Garrett Heath was second.
