Call it a sculpture garden or an art course. Either way, the offbeat, eye-popping course west of Mound is well worth the drive. Metal sunflowers, fossilized trees, an overturned boat with a church-like interior and lots of water "hazards" make this 12-holer challenging and engaging. The nude sculptures are tasteful enough to make this a fine destination for kids, which everyone who plays the course turns into in short order. Bonus points for the nearby goat hill, picnic tables and Stonehenge-like fire pit. 7100 County Road 110 W., Minnetrista; 952-472-9292, www.bigstoneminigolf.com.
