'Bloomington Mapworks III'

Continuing: To celebrate city landmarks and nurture a sense of community, Bloomington invited six Twin Cities artists to interpret eight sites picked by residents via a 2011 survey. Working in largely representational styles with a bit of symbolism, a whiff of cartooning and some aerial and night views tossed in, the artists depicted Bloomington's civic plaza, the Bush Lake ski jump, David Fong's restaurant, the Japanese Garden, Mall of America, the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Nine Mile Creek and the Old Town Hall. The artists are Erik Sletten (organizer), Holly Stone, D.C. Ice, Marjorie Moody, Craig Bell and Erik Pearson, whose take on the Japanese Garden is at left. (8 a.m.-10 p.m. Mon.-Fri.; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.; 1-10 p.m. Sun. Free. Inez Greenberg Gallery, Bloomington Theatre and Art Center, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington.
