Adrian Peterson's trip to Houston was brief and nondescript. The Vikings star running back made his court appearance Monday morning in connection with his July 7 arrest on charges of resisting arrest. Yet little of significance happened as the prosecution requested more time to review the case, with pre-trial dates then set for Sept. 27 and Nov. 15.

Peterson is due back in Mankato tonight and should return to the field Tuesday to resume his off-to-the-side rehabilitation work on his left knee.

Peterson is also unlikely to miss any future time with the team due to his legal proceedings. If his case lasts until the next court date, Peterson will not be required to attend. The subsequent November date would occur during the Vikings' Week 11 bye.

Peterson was arrested last month after an altercation with security and police at a Houston nightclub. He was charged with resisting arrest and briefly detained. Yet the Vikings star has adamantly expressed his innocence every time he's talked about the case. During his first appearance in court four weeks ago, Peterson asserted that he was "200 percent innocent."

As for football? The Vikings running back remains on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list during training camp. And head coach Leslie Frazier reiterated this morning that there was no chance that tag would be removed this week as the Vikings prepare for their Friday preseason opener in San Francisco.

"I don't anticipate us doing anything different than we did a week ago with him," Frazier said. "We'll continue to go through this process and evaluate it after the San Francisco game. But our plan right now is to let him continue to go through the work he's going through with our athletic trainer and our strength coach."
