The Cayuga Bridge, that's I-35E just north of downtown St. Paul, and the ramp from Cedar Avenue to eastbound 94 in Minneapolis were the main trouble spots Wednesday.

A number of spin outs and crashes marred the drive on I-35E with several crashes in the work zone. The latest is a crash blocking the left lane. Crashes tangled traffic in both directions at various times during the rush hour.

In Minneapolis, an early morning rollover closed the ramp from Cedar Avenue to eastbound 94. Not long after that was cleared, a semitrailer truck nicked a couple vehicles and spun out. That led to a second closure, which is still in place at this hour. The semi was leaking fuel, but that has been contained.

A new crash, the second one of the morning, has traffic bogging down on southbound Hwy. 280 at Energy Park Drive.

Elsewhere black ice might have played a factor in a number wrecks. Roads are slick in places so keep the speeds down and keep distance between the cars next to and in front of you.

Our current list of mishaps include a crash in the left lane on the westbound 94 Hudson Bridge and southbound Hwy. 169 at I-94 in Brooklyn Park.

The intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street is closed due to flooding. Minneapolis Police and the fire department have the intersection blocked as they work to clean up after a sprinkler head in the basement of Calhoun Square burst about 30 minutes ago.

Be safe and stay warm. Today's not the day to be stranded in a cold vehicle.
