True to form, congestion developed on northbound Hwy. 169 just after 6:30 a.m. as commuters detouring around the Hwy. 101 and Hwy. 41 river crossings headed west to get across the Minnesota River. The log jam loosened earlier than in past days, with traffic back to near normal levels around 8:15 a.m.

Northbound 35W suffered with a crash involving a truck at Burnsville Pkwy. at 7:20 a.m. bogged down traffic for about a half hour. Until then, things moved quite well from County 42 over the Minnesota River bridge. At present, it's a 25-minute drive from the Burnsville Split into downtown Minneapolis.

Commuters on southbound Hwy. 169 from Hwy. 610 in Brooklyn Park past Bass Lake Road endured an hour of delays as a crash took out a lane. That accident around 6:15 a.m. has long cleared and things are back to normal in that area.

The rest of the system flowed well as few crashes tied up traffic. No big delays for east metro drivers on Hwy. 36 or I-94 despite the closure of the Stillwater Lift Bridge.

North metro drivers lost a bit of time on southbound 35E through the work zone, Little Canada Road to Maryland Avenue. Southbound 35W had one minor snag around 6:30 a.m. when a car went into the ditch at Hwy. 10.

Road work continues on Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 149 in Eagan until November. Keep that in mind in the comming weeks.

Transit agencies reported no problems on buses and trains. Metro Transit warned Northstar riders that there could be intermittent delays between Fridley and Target Field stations as BNSF conducts track maintenance work for the next three weeks.
