Wet roads led to a handful of early morning spinouts, but no major crashes to hamper the commute to work.

The rush hour was fairly tame, although a car fire on southbound 94 at Dowling around 7:30 a.m.. snarled traffic as two right lanes were closed. Traffic stacked up to 694 leading to a 15-minute delay at the peak. Currently things are sluggish on southbound Hwy. 252 and 94 from 73rd Avenue past the scene. Things are improving.

The south metro saw the usual congestion on northbound 35W and Hwy. 169, but it was nothing out of the ordinary.

While southbound 35W and 35E in the north metro moved at its usual pace, drivers on westbound 94 coming in from Wisconsin and the eastern suburbs saw tight conditions mainly from 7 to 8 a.m.

The oddity of the morning: A pitch fork in the lanes of Hwy. 100 south near Excelsior. That could have made things a devil of drive, but it didn't.

The Drive heard of no delays on Metro Transit trains this morning. Both Blue Line and Northstar trains ran on time.
