This morning's rush hour started out tame, but it turned into a dashboard pounding drive for many commuters during the 8 a.m. hour where a flurry of crashes combined with congestion made for extra long commutes.

At one time there were 12 separate crashes on the system.

Currently the worst spots continue to be on westbound 94 from McKnight Road over to Riverside Avenue. Travel times are dropping now that crashes at Huron Blvd. and Hamline Avenue are gone, but it is still a 45-minute trip.

Eastbound 394 is struggling with a new crash just past Hwy. 100.

Bumper to bumper conditions can be found on northbound 35W from County 42 up to Cliff Road where there is a crash involving a vehicle facing the wrong direction in the left lane.

Up ahead, authorities are cleaning up a motorcycle accident at the junction of Hwy. 62 and 35W. From there, it's 20 minutes to downtown Minneapolis.

Look for congestion on westbound 694 from 35E to 35W and south 494 has its share of vehicles from 94 down to Hwy. 55.
