Traffic is zipping along in most of the metro, but commuters in the southwest metro are not. The closure of northbound Hwy. 169 at the I-494 interchange has drivers using northbound 494 to get to 394. That is the most congested area of the metro right now. That drive is at 20 to 25 minutes.
Eastbound 494 and northbound Hwy. 100 also are experiencing a drag as motorists seek alternate routes.
Crashes having a minor impact on traffic include:
Eastbound 694 at Rice Street in the left lane
Eastbound 394 at Carlson Parkwy. The right shoulder is blocked.
Southbound 35E in downtown St. Paul at Jackson Street.
