Motorists who prepared for an arduous commute are probably pleasantly surprised that the drive is not as difficult as expected.
Yes, roads are wet with scattered slippery spots and ice chunks in the lane, but not as bad as they could be considering eight to 12 inches of wet sloppy snow fell over night.
There have been a few crashes and spin outs this morning, but not nearly as many as last night. Currently westbound Hwy. 36 is tight from 35E to 35W. That is about 12 minutes.
Elsewhere, aside from the usual congestion, roads are fine.
