The Minnesota Supreme Court has disciplined two lawyers in the past week for professional misconduct.

Nicholas Schutz was suspended indefinitely for failing to properly maintain all required trust account books and records, and failing during the disciplinary proceedings to respond in a timely manner to discovery requests and comply with the referee's orders. He can apply for reinstatement in three months.

The suspension was requested by the state Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility.

Also disciplined was Craig Andresen for failing to maintain the required trust account books and records, resulting in shortages in his trust account, and failing to safeguard client funds.

He received a public reprimand and two years of probation during which his books and records will be available for review by the professional responsibility office.
