The snow has lightened in intensity in the past half hour or so, but it's only a reprieve. More heavy stuff is on the way for later this afternoon and evening. The forecast calls for up to 12 inches by Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, it does not take much to gum up the roads, so any amount will lead to crashes and spinouts. And right now, we've got them in spades.

Here is a partial list of where you will encounter midday trouble:

Southbound 35W at 494 where the left shoulder is blocked.

Northbound 94 at 42nd Avenue where the left lane is blocked.

Northbound Cedar Avenue at Hwy. 13.

Eastbound 94 at Elm Creek Blvd in Maple Grove. In Minneapolis, the exit to Huron Blvd. is blocked with a crash.

More wreckage on westbound 494 at Hwy. 5.

Look for a wreck on southbound 494 at Lincoln Drive in Edina/Hopkins.
