Are US taxpayer dollars used to help fund anti-US, anti-Israel hate education?
“The Palestinians are slated to receive some 200 million dollars in U.S. security assistance after a top House Republican ended her hold on the money. In separate letters to the State Department and USAID, Ros-Lehtinen {chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee} cited President Barack Obama certification that the funds were in the national security interests of the United States….” -N. “In a few weeks, it will be five years since the Palestinian Authority was to prepare its citizens for a two-state solution and end incitement in its educational system. Yet from pre-school through high school, Palestinian children are indoctrinated to deny Israel's legitimacy, demonize Israelis and Jews, and glorify violent struggle as a religious goal. The Palestinian government-produced textbooks and government-controlled media work in tandem to assure that Palestinian children will be no more disposed to living peacefully with Israel tomorrow than their parents are today. It's never too early to begin the hate education. Preschool television programming could be called Terrorism for Tots. Last year American viewers had a glimpse of the weekly program starring an outrageous Palestinian version of Mickey Mouse, Farfar, who in a Mickey-like voice told children to pray until there is "world leadership under Islamic leadership" “… Farfur taught the children not only the glory of violence but the mindset of victim hood and blame.….
At this moment, in classrooms in Gaza and the West Bank, in schools under Hamas control or "moderate" Fatah control, children are being poisoned with hate and distrust and readied to be warriors for the "final and inevitable result ...the victory of the Muslims over the Jews." ..With humanitarian intentions and a blind eye to what is actually written in the textbooks and shown in the media, the U.S. funds hate education. The U.S. provides funding to Palestinian education without any of the oversight it demands of American schools. I have been an educator for 31 years and know the stringent standards for accreditation and funding of schools in all fifty states. Perhaps a team of educators could set minimum requirements of pedagogy as well as a low level of tolerance for incitement towards violence, and only after the standards are met would funds commence. The money would follow performance, not promise.”-P. Shapiro, American Thinker, 2/2/08
I was honored to be in the company of Israel’s Christian “friends” Sunday evening for the CUFI (Christians United for Israel) Celebrate Israel Week biennial event at the Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, MN. This celebration began Sunday evening and will conclude Wed. May 9th. The Celebrate Israel Week event is a breathtaking experience to behold. It sets aside Jewish-Christian religious differences and an unfortunate history, in uniting the two as brothers with a common purpose and for the common good.- with the current directive being - the defense of Israel and the Jewish people against the venomous, delegitimizing and demonizing politico-media-war and terrorist war being waged against them. As for Israel’s enemies, there is no valid nor rational reason for their vicious Nazi-style campaign, which offers no compromise nor real peaceful resolution short of the elimination of the State of Israel.
CUFI has become the largest pro-Israel organization in the country, spanning all fifty states. Each July, many thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington D.C. to voice strong support for the State of Israel. Further, CUFI organizes a bi-annual summit in Jerusalem, bringing thousands of Christians from all corners of the globe to demonstrate solidarity with Israel.
CUFI goals include educating Christians about the “Biblical and moral imperatives” to supporting Israel; and to communicate this perspective to the media, politicians and the general public. Their education efforts now include Campus chapters to counter the viral growth of anti-Israel bullying on University campuses nationwide, and to stem the tide of Nazi-like-anti-Israel misinformation, brainwashing student and faculty alike, that is inundating the campus setting- including our own University of Minnesota.
For information about CUFI and their mission, and the Living Word Christian Center:
Israel is often misrepresented internationally as a thorn amidst an Arabian flower garden. {Think “Arab Spring”?} Despite the inherent and real dangers this tiny democracy faces and has faced since its birth, the following video offers a rare glimpse of Israel as a “flower” of democracy.
BDS (Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions): a Nazi-like enterprise with a humane face.
Masked as a progressive, liberal, humanist and socialist mission, the eloquent hard-sell of the BDS spokesmen are effectively bleeding an innocent Israel, and labeling her guilty for a host of imaginary crimes. Their method strikes a parallel to the brutal Nazi tattoos which physically branded their innocent Jewish victims arms for the crime of being Jewish.
We recently witnessed BDS movement efforts at the University of Minnesota earlier this month with Israel Aparthed Week, a{n annual} festival of hatred and incitement organized by anti-Israel activists on university campuses in the US, Canada and other countries.-Khaled Abu Tuomeh 3/17/11
As Israel Apartheid Week continues, a Palestinian boy was left to die at a Lebanese hospital because his father couldn’t afford treatment . Mohammed Nabil Taha, an 11-year-old Palestinian boy, died this week at the entrance to a Lebanese hospital after doctors refused to help him because his family could not afford to pay for medical treatment. Taha’s tragic case highlights the plight of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who live in squalid refugee camps in Lebanon and who are the victims of an apartheid system that denies them access to work, education and medical care. This is in stark contrast to the routinely false portrayal offered by many major international media sources and individuals against Israeli policy towards Palestinian Arabs. Ironically, the boy’s death at the entrance to the hospital coincided with Israel Apartheid Week, a{n annual} festival of hatred and incitement organized by anti-Israel activists on university campuses in the US, Canada and other countries. -KHALED ABU TUOMEH 03/17/2011.
Just this week, the University of Minnesota’s Minnesota Daily Op-Ed page printed: “Disinvest in Israel” an articulate though hypocritically inaccurate article, heavily inlaid with unsubstantiated misstatements and false charges calling for the divestment (banning) of all funding to the State of Israel. This was given prominent display, visually inferring a sort of University-endorsed-scholastic-integrity to the so-called “academic” nature of the opinion piece, according to its author, in the Daily’s Op-Ed page-3/08/12. Personally, I find it disconcerting that such uneducated drivel found a welcome home in the Minnesota Daily, a better choice would have been the Nazi publication -Der Sturmer. A notoriously anti-Semitic publication.
